After years of contemplation and laziness, I have decided to go back to school...It has been almost 6 years since my Master's and 6 years in the corporate world and a few trying my entrepreneurial luck. I guess the aspirations that you have as a kid or even a teenager has a strong influence on the decisions the rest of your life...
Thrills of the admission process
I had plenty of time to submit applications for Spring 2008. I knew I had to do an ECE evaluation and a ton of paperwork for GMAT and TOEFL. However, the alarm went out only just before 4 weeks to the admission application deadline. The well known university I decided to pursue my MBA did not have a hard date for application submission. "We will keep reviewing applications as they come by", they said...So, come Jan I had almost given up hope that I would enroll for the Spring semester. Then , my luck changed - My advisor went on vacation and another advisor looked at my paperwork. He must have thought very highly of my qualifications (or felt pity reading my desperate requests to consider my applications for admissions) - so, I got a call on the first day of class for Spring 2008 and he wanted to know if I was willing to take up class the very same day. The rest is history...
MBA Month 1
Blackboard is something one must just get used to...no longer do you get any instructions from faculty in class, all they say is "look for announcements and posts in the almighty blackboard"! More assignments, seminars, and group discussions...and midterms too! It has been an exciting month...
